About Me, the VirtualRDN

I’m Kaitlin, and I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). I’m here to help you and your family be as healthy as you can be!

VirtualRDN sprung out of a desire to combine all of my passions in one easy-to-access place: nutrition education, counseling, cooking, family, community, and disease prevention and management.

Now, a little bit more about me and how I got here…

I studied nutrition and dietetics at the University of Maryland. I then completed a dietetic internship and fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital on the Cornell and Columbia University campuses in New York City.

Thereafter, I stayed on as a clinical dietitian with Columbia-Presbyterian, gaining vast experience providing nutrition therapy for complex medical and surgical conditions.

In 2012,  I moved to the Maryland area. I am currently employed at the University of Maryland Medical Center working in various medical and surgical outpatient clinics, with a specialty in oncology.

  • In 2019, I earned the  “Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year” award for the state of Maryland from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • In 2020, I was awarded the University of Maryland Medical Center “Hospital Employee of the Year”.

I truly enjoy getting to know my clients along with their families, caretakers and friends. It brings me such excitement and fulfillment to help clients realize the potential that nutrition has to make a difference in their lives. My approach is non-judgemental and personalized to each and every client, focusing on your wants and needs as well as your food preferences. I will never push a particular diet on you, but rather, will work with what makes sense for your body and your lifestyle. I enjoy building personalized meal plans, recipes, tip sheets and motivational/mindful eating exercises.
