Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups dried brown rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Ground black pepper , to taste

Instructions
 

  • Add brown rice to boiling water. Return to a boil then reduce heat and simmer, covered, until water is absorbed, about 25 minutes.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add remaining ingredients and season with pepper to taste.
